The Boston-based firm features heavily in the Food to Go categories across both awards but this year two nominations have also been selected for the Ready Meals award category of the Good Choice! Quality Food Awards.
The awards, now in their second year, are designed to highlight best practice in those food products that are specifically designed and marketed as healthier, free from or alternative diet.
Health has become a significant factor throughout the industry and these awards recognise the efforts made by retailers and manufacturers to deliver food and drink that address specific consumer needs, such as low-fat, low-sugar, dairy-free and reduced-calorie.
“We are proud that our products are so popular within the thriving prepared category and we’re overwhelmed to have been recognised across so many categories at this year’s Awards,” said Freshtime’s Managing Director, Mark Newton.
“They are undoubtedly the most prestigious awards for food and drink products on sale within the UK.”
Now in their 37th year, the Quality Food Awards provide the chance to be crowned for the best product in specific food and drink categories and are considered the ultimate endorsement of products on offer to consumers.
The shortlisted products were selected from among thousands of entries following a rigorous four-week judging period undertaken by a professional team of over 200 food experts.
Helen Lyons, group publisher at organisers Metropolis Business Media, said: “These awards are perfect for small and large producers alike.
“What sets us apart is the impartiality and rigour of the judging process, which rightly sits at the heart of everything we do – it means people buying products with the Q mark know they are choosing the best in the market.”
