Freshtime is a privately-owned company founded in 2000 supplying major retailers with prepared vegetables. The site has had over £14 million invested in it to have their own purpose-built site.

This Position

To create innovative, new products which ensure we attract new, profitable business. Work alongside the Senior Development Chef and NPD manager to identify opportunities in line with market trends and present to customers with supporting rational.

  • Food Awareness

  • Control and maintain recipe systems and their associated costings

  • Attend weekly NPD meetings to keep all colleagues abreast of current projects, their progression and launch schedules.

  • To motivate suppliers to deliver inspirational ingredients

  • To ensure effective communication within the team and relevant departments/individuals and customers where appropriate

  • Generate and update submission documents for all customers submissions.

  • Represent Freshtime at customer forums as required.

  • Generate and update all QAS documents for your product customer area

The Candidate

Reporting to one of our Product Developers the successful candidate will work as part of the Development team creating new products and ensuring their successful transition from development to production.

The successful candidate will need to be able to influence and communicate at all levels and must have excellent interpersonal skills in order to build strong relationships with our customers and with the factory team. Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent in a food related subject as well as have competent IT skills with demonstrable experience or completing specifications and working with spreadsheets as well as Quality Assurance Systems.

Experience working with leading supermarkets in a similar role within the food industry is essential.
